UPDATE AT 7:15 AM: Fire officials have confirmed that three people were killed in the fire. They were identified as two adults and a three-year-old child. Their identities have not been released.
WHAT WE FIRST REPORTED
At least one person has been killed in a house fire in Kittanning this morning.
The Armstrong County Coroner was called to in the 1400 block of Grant Avenue at 6:00 this morning, joining fire crews that had been on the scene since just before 4:00. Fire crews started to fight the blaze from the inside, but after heavy structural damage was reported, crews were ordered to fight the fire from the outside. Two firefighters were hurt while inside the house and were treated on-scene by paramedics.
Multiple fire departments are still on the scene. No word on how the fire started.
