The Department of Education is scrapping changes made to its Title IX policies under the Biden administration.
The department is removing protections against discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. The changes revert Title IX regulations back to the rules implemented by the first Trump administration in 2020.
The move would also change how sexual assault cases are investigated on campus, changes which supporters say expands due process but that opponents say makes it harder for abusers to face consequences.
