UPDATE:
Fire crews were able to limit damage from an attic fire at a home in Green Township.
Indiana County 911 sent Commodore, Clymer, Marion Center, Cherry Tree and Hope fire departments to a home on Barr Slope Road around 9:45 last night and would later put the Plumville fire department on standby detail. James Hopkins with the Commodore Fire Department said that when crews arrived on the scene, the fire was seen from the second floor in the rear of the house. Crews were able to attack the fire from inside and contain it to the second floor and attic. The house suffered smoke and water damage throughout. While initial reports said there was the danger of the fire spreading to other houses, crews were able to prevent that.
No injuries were reported, and everyone got out safe. The four people living in the home are getting assistance from their neighbors and the American Red Cross. The fire was ruled accidental and electrical in nature. Crews were on the scene for about two to three hours.
