Damage was minimal after some garbage caught fire at a home in Blairsville Borough Thursday morning.
Indiana County 911 initially dispatched Blairsville, Black Lick, Coral-Graceton, Derry, and New Alexandria firefighters; Team 900, Citizens’ Ambulance, and Blairsville Borough Police to a home along South Stewart Street shortly before 7:30 a.m.
Adam Dowdrick of the Blairsville Fire Department said some garbage inside a trash can in the kitchen’s home started the fire, but crews were able to put it out quickly, resulting in the assisting units being canceled en route.
No injuries or damage was reported, and fire officials say the fire was not intentional.
