The Pirates yesterday signed former Blue Jays and Yankees left-handed reliever Tim Mayza to a major league contract, pending a physical.
Mayza is 20-9 in his career with a 3.88 ERA over seven season, most of them with the Blue Jays. They designated him for assignment last summer and he ended up with the Yankees. Overall, Mayza was 0-2 with a 6.33 ERA in 2024, but he was 8-1 with a 3.14 ERA in ’22 and 3-1 with a 1.52 ERA in ’23.
