GIRLS BASKETBALL
Indiana won a defensive battle with Greensburg Salem, coming away with a 36-28 win. The Indians gave up only 6 points in the first half but couldn’t pull away decisively, with the Golden Lions trimming their deficit to 2 in the second half.
Julia Antonacci led Indiana with 12 points and Emily Betsinger finally put the game away with the final two buckets.
Indiana improves to 14-3, 8-1 in the section.
Penns Manor broke open a close game with a big second half and beat Marion Center to take the lead for the second spot out of the West on The Road to the KCAC. Todd Marino has the recap.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Max Voyda scored 17 points and Angelo Alexander and Nash Budner each had 11 as Homer-Center rung up Cambria Heights, 56-29. Isaac Weiland had 14 for the Highlanders.
West Shamokin topped Marion Center, 77-58. The Stingers were led by Kamden Rozier with 23 points, while Cameron pack had 12 and Ian Kutsch 10. The Wolves did not provide their scoring leaders.
Conemaugh Township and Portage both entered last night’s game tied for the top spot in the Heritage Conference East at 10-2. The Indians topped the Mustangs, 61-58. The two teams will play again tonight at CT.
United beat Berlin-Brothersvalley, 65-58. Ryan Felix scored 22 points for the Lions, Dmitri Worthington had 19, and James Kordish had 15.

With weather reschedules, the action on the hardwood this week has a different look. Tonight, Penns Manor’s girls were to play at United on 92.5 FM U92, but due to a wrestling match at United, the girls will play instead at Penns Manor, tipping off at 6 o’clock, prior to a boys game between the Comets and West Shamokin. We’ll carry the girls game, airtime 5:45.
Marion Center’s boys play at River Valley on Cat Country 106.3 FM, airing at 7:00.
