Indiana County District Attorney Robert Manzi offered remarks after the sentencing of Terrion Gates yesterday.
The 22-year-old man from Johnstown was ordered to serve life in prison without the possibility of parole along with an extra 12-24 years for his conviction on charges of second-degree homicide, robbery and conspiracy to robbery. The charges were connected with the shooting death of Jadeyn Wright in October of 2020 at the Carriage House Apartments. The shooting happened as Gates and three others went to Wright, with the others intending to rob Wright under the guise of a marijuana buy.
Manzi described Wright as “a young man who was earning a college degree. He had a bright future ahead of him before his life was taken away in a senseless act of greed and violence.” He thanked the work of assistant district attorneys Dennis Clark and Stephen Paskowski, who prosecuted the case, and members of the Indiana Borough Police for leading the investigation.
