After twenty years, Penns Manor football coach Bill Packer has retired. Packer, already retired as a teacher in the school district, wraps up a career that featured some of the best football teams the area has ever seen, including the 2011 state semifinal team led by Danny Ferens. Packer was named the Coach of the Year in Pennsylvania after that season. His Comets won five Heritage Conference championships during his tenure.
Packer retires with a career record of 137-85. Penns Manor was 6-6 in 2024.
He shares reflections on his remarkable career in a visit with Todd Marino on Indiana In the Morning.
