Cold conditions continue to prevail in Indiana County.
The National Weather Service’s Cold Weather Advisory for most of Indiana County and Extreme Cold Warning for the higher elevations remains in effect until 1:00 PM on Wednesday. The dangerously cold temperatures combined with the wind could produce wind chills in the negative 20s tonight.
People are advised to keep pets inside as much as possible. If you have to go out, be sure the wear layers of clothes, a hat, gloves and face covering. Any exposed skin could see frostbite in as little as 30 minutes, and exposure could also cause hypothermia.
Also, water pipes could freeze. People are advised to wrap or drain them, or allow them to drip slowly.
