Ask Mike Tomlin and practically anyone else in the Steelers’ organization, and they will tell you that Cincinnati’s Joe Burrow is the NFL MVP, even if his numbers don’t match Baltimore’s Lamar Jackson or Buffalo’s Josh Allen. The Steelers play Burrow and the Bengals tomorrow night in the regular season finale at Acrisure Stadium.
Pro Bowl safety Minkah Fitzpatrick is a Burrow believer, especially in combination with receivers Ja’marr Chase and Tee Higgins.
Cornerback Joey Porter Jr. will be back for the game with the Bengals tomorrow night but fellow starting corner Donte Jackson is questionable with a bad back. Porter says no matter who’s in the secondary, they’re going to have to communicate better with each other than they have in recent weeks.
Jackson was limited at practice yesterday but said he felt good. Running back Jaylen Warren, wide receiver Ben Skowronek and quarterback Justin Fields were all cleared to play. The Steelers ruled out receiver Roman Wilson, linebacker Cole Holcomb, and defensive lineman Logan Lee.
The game tomorrow kicks off at 8 o’clock. We’re on the air at 6 on WDAD.
The Steelers still technically have a shot at winning the AFC North, but only if they win and Cleveland upsets Baltimore tomorrow. That is even more unlikely now with the Browns announcing that they will start Bailey Zappe at quarterback. He was signed off the Chiefs’ practice squad in October.
