Coach Joe Lombardi’s IUP men are back over .500 after last night’s win over Thiel. Jack Benedict has the story. (93-58 IUP win.)
Lombardi says his young team is learning how to “compete”, rather than “perform.”
Lombardi says one of his biggest challenges is to get his players to communicate with each other on the floor.
IUP moves into the PSAC West portion of its schedule next, with games Monday afternoon at Edinboro and Wednesday night at home against Gannon.
Lombardi says his guys are going to learn how tough the PSAC West is.
The IUP women hit the road this evening for a non-conference game at Daemen University in Amherst, New York. IUP is 10-1 and Daemen is 8-5. The Crimson Hawks are ranked 17th in the D2CSC Media poll and are listed among those receiving votes but not in the Top 25 in the WBCA Division II Coaches Poll. They’re currently third in the Atlantic Region behind Seton Hill and Gannon, two PSAC West foes they will be facing in the next two weeks, and again in February.
