A mother and two children are now homeless after a fire destroyed their mobile home in Pine Township.
Indiana County 911 first reported the structure fire was along Route 422 East in Pine Township at 8:28 PM. Pine and Cherryhill Township fire crews were called out along with the Nicktown, Nanty-Glo and Hope fire departments and the RIT team. Pine Township fire officials said that the children were not home at the time, and the mother was able to get out on her own, but a family pet did not survive the fire.
The home has been declared a complete loss. No word yet on the cause. The American Red Cross is assisting the family.
