Along with the fire last night, New Year’s Day was a busy day for Indiana County’s First Responders.
The first call of the day was for utility lines down along Starford Road in Cherryhill Township. The Cherryhill Township firefighters were dispatched at 4:53 AM. Blairsville and Black Lick firefighters were called at 5:43 AM for a smoke investigation along 422 West.
Three vehicle accidents were reported yesterday. The first was along Route 422 East near Nolo. Pine and Cherryhill township fire crews, Black Lick EMS and State police were dispatched at 9:13 AM. The vehicle rolled over on its side. The driver was able to get out on their own and was checked out by paramedics.
The second was reported at 6:55 PM on Route 119 North in White Township, bringing out the Indiana fire association and Citizens’ Ambulance. Fire officials said that the caller reported a spin out crash, but crews did not find the vehicle when they arrived.
And Armagh firefighters were dispatched at 8:27 PM for a crash on Route 22 East in East Wheatfield Township, about a mile west of the intersection with Route 56.
