2025 Indiana County Athena Awards

Renda Media has been a proud partner with the Colonial Motor Mart as the Co-Sponsors of the annual Indiana County Athena Award. The award recognizes individuals who demonstrate excellence in their professional field, provide valuable service to the greater Indiana County Community, and actively mentor and support women in leadership development.
AMY REBYANSKI
Amy Rebyanski, a health and physical education teacher at Ben Franklin Elementary School, has built a career centered on empowering students through fitness, service, and community engagement. Originally intending to pursue social work, she discovered her passion for teaching in college, blending her love for education with a commitment to student well-being.
Since joining the Indiana Area School District, Rebyanski has become a leader both inside and outside the classroom. She contributed to curriculum development, designed interactive lessons on health and fitness, and served on key school committees. She was part of the team that reestablished the Parent Teacher Association at Ben Franklin Elementary and founded the Ben Franklin Runners to encourage student activity and foster a love for running. She also led schoolwide wellness initiatives like Step-Up For Kids and organized events such as IAEF runs and Run Day activities.
Beyond school, Rebyanski is deeply involved in her church and local ministry, mentoring young women and supporting community outreach. She co-led initiatives like Scarlet Night for individuals with special needs and the Summer XP Bible School program, helping children grow in faith and confidence.
Her leadership extends to modeling positive values for students and peers. Recently named a 2025 ATHENA Leadership Award finalist, she’s recognized for her impact as a mentor, volunteer, and community leader. She remains focused on expanding youth fitness programs and inspiring others to serve, creating lasting change that ripples through the community.
