The Penguins had yesterday off as they traveled to Detroit ahead of tonight’s New Year’s Eve bout with the Detroit Red Wings. One person who did not make the trip was Jesse Puljujarvi, who was placed on waivers yesterday afternoon. This could be an indicator that Marcus Pettersson comes off injured reserve before tonight’s game.
Pettersson was cleared to participate in full-contact activities this weekend despite not playing in either game against New York. Puljujarvi appeared in only one game for Pittsburgh on November 23rd and has been a healthy scratch since. He has until 2 o’clock today to clear waivers and be assigned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
Tonight’s game faces off shortly after 8. We’re on the air at 7 on U92.5 FM and U92radio.com.
