Indiana Borough is reminding residents about changes to the upcoming contract for garbage hauling.
According to a post from the borough’s Facebook page, borough residents will be able to schedule hazardous waste collection as part of the service Waste Management provides. Borough residents can call Waste Management directly at 1-800-449-7587 to dispose of hazardous waste like paint, electronics, household cleaners. People can also log on to www.WMAtYourDoor.com for more information. This is being done at no extra cost for borough citizens.
As far as garbage pickup is concerned, Waste Management is no longer offering unlimited garbage collection for borough residents but will provide a 96-gallon container to all residents sometime this spring. Until then, people are asked to continue to follow current guidelines. Residents will also be able to dispose of two bulk items per collection period and must schedule that bulk pickup with Waste Management ahead of time. Special bulk item pickups may be scheduled with Waste Management for an additional fee.
