High school basketball resumed last night with the West Shamokin boys picking up a 60-46 win over Williamsburg. Alex Talmadge led the Wolves with 16 points while Bradyn Rodgers added 14 and Jude Olinger 10.
West Shamokin’s girls go up against Westmont Hilltop tonight at 5:30.
Several Indiana County teams are set to take part in holiday tournaments this weekend.
Indiana High’s girls have a high-powered matchup against Hempfield at the Greater Latrobe Holiday Tournament. The Indians are 6-2 overall and are coming off a loss to Southern Garrett last Saturday. Hempfield is 6-1 and suffered a 42-40 loss to Mt. Lebanon last Thursday.
Coach Michael Franciscus says Hempfield is similar to last Saturday’s opponent Southern Garrett.
Franciscus said the Spartans are a sound, defensive team.

Indiana’s boys return to action after a 10-day layoff tonight as they take on Deer Lakes in the latter’s holiday tournament.
Heritage Conference games tonight include:
- River Valley’s teams will take part in the Apollo Trust Company Christmas Tournament. The boys will battle Leechburg tonight while the girls take on Burrell.
- Homer-Center’s girls are on the road in the Richland Holiday Tournament. The boys will face Meyersdale in Ferndale’s tournament.
- The Marion Center boys tip-off with Redbank Valley at 2 and the girls will face Punxsutawney at 6.
