Santa Claus is cleared to travel through Pennsylvania.
At an event in Hershey yesterday, Pennsylvania’s Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding joined Assistant State Veterinarian Dr. Erin Luley, and PA Tourism Office Executive Director Kaitie Burger, Santa Claus and his nine reindeer to announce that the reindeer received a clean bill of health from the Department of Agriculture.
All nine received clearance to fly to Pennsylvania from Dr. Sarah Coburn, Alaska’s state veterinarian. Dr. Luley reviewed that certification and approved them for rooftop-to-rooftop travel through all 67 Pennsylvania Counties. These certificates are required as an assurance that contagious diseases are not carried across state lines.
