Services have been announced for Dan Shacreaw, whose death was announced by the fire department over the weekend.
Shacreaw served the community in a number of ways and had been with the fire company since he was a junior firefighter as a teenager. He also served eight years with the PA Army National Guard’s Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Enhanced Response Force.
He resigned as a supervisor last May, mainly due to his health.
Shacreaw was 35 years old. He leaves behind a wife, Rachel, and a son, Colton.
Funeral arrangements have been released by the Black Lick Fire Company. Viewings will be held at the Shoemaker Funeral Home for firefighters only on Thursday from 6-8 PM and friends and family will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Friday. A funeral service will be held at the Black Lick fire station on Saturday at 11 AM with a luncheon to follow.
