After over two years of work, the White Township Supervisors approved sending the White’s Woods Stewardship Plan to DCNR for review and comment last night.
The plan offers recommendations for maintenance of the forest canopy and controlling invasive plants in the area, and will also focus on the conservation, preservation and protection of White’s Woods. It also suggests collaborations with local environmental groups such as the Friends of White’s Woods. The group’s president, Sara King, said she was impressed with how the Stewardship Committee followed DCNR’s suggestions in making the plan, including a public comment period and brining in experts to help form the plan.
The supervisors also approved the 2025 budget last night. The budget comes to $9,154,460.03 in revenues and $10,186,816.17 in expenses. The deficit will be covered through remaining ARP funds along with carryover money from 2024 and interest off investments made by the township.
