Indiana Borough Council Tuesday night approved a new four year agreement with the union that represents laborers, street crews and other borough employees.
The four year agreement between the borough and the Utility Workers Union of America Local #580 includes pay raises in each year of the contract. The first year will be a 3% raise, while years two and three will go to 4% each year. The fourth year’s increase will be based on the consumer price index. Borough manager Nicole Sipos said that the new agreement was approved as the current one was just a few weeks from expiring.
Council also approved an agreement between the borough and White Township concerning the construction, operation and use of a sewage treatment plant and common sanitary sewer interceptor network, and approved an engineering services contract with Stiffler McGraw for the 2025 year.
