The Indiana County Commissioners approved the 2025 budget this morning.
Taxes will go up by 7% or .4 mills to 6.105 mills, which Commissioners Chairman Mike Keith said it will mean a $42 increase for the average parcel of land. Keith said that Indiana County’s tax increase was “minimal” and was actually lower than the state average for this year.
The Commissioners also thanked the departments who worked hard on the budgets, and in some cases, restructured their departments so they could make budget cuts.
Also, the Commissioners approved amendments to the agreement for the donation of the former First Commonwealth Bank Downtown Indiana Office. They include extending the outside closing date to the end of this year and a covenant and easement agreement to be included in the closing documents to include reciprocal easements for telecommunications systems, an emergency exit, HVAC facilities and a temporary construction project.
