College football’s 12-team playoff bracket has been announced, and Penn State is part of the field. The Nittany Lions will host SMU on December 21st. Oregon, Georgia, Boise State and Arizona State all have first round byes after finishing as the top four seeds.
Boise State will play on New Year’s Eve in the Fiesta Bowl against the winner of Penn State/SMU. On New Year’s Day Arizona State plays in the Peach Bowl, Oregon is in the Rose Bowl, and Georgia will play in the Sugar Bowl. The first round of the College Football Playoff begins on December 20th with Notre Dame hosting Curt Cignetti’s Indiana Hoosiers.
