Pennsylvania’s Public Utilities Commissioners at their meeting yesterday approved the construction of a transmission line tap in West Wheatfield Township.
The order allows for Mid-Atlantic Interstate Transmission, LLC., and FirstEnergy to construct the Blairsville East – Seward Transmission Line Tap in the township that will run approximately 115 kilovolts or 115,000 volts. The tap will branch from a main line to a smaller distribution system or substation, which provides electricity to a new area without interrupting power flow on a main line. Details regarding where the tap line will go or when it will be constructed were not released during the meeting.
