In its latest report, the CDC says cases of whooping cough are quickly rising in Pennsylvania, as 35 new cases were reported over the last week. So far this year, 2,657 cases of whooping cough were reported in Pennsylvania, an increase of 2,352 cases from this time last year.
More than 60,000 cases have been reported in the U.S. so far this year. This is six times more cases than in an average year. The CDC recommends vaccination as the best way to prevent getting whooping cough.
