The Penguins had Sunday off after collecting their third straight win on Saturday, a 6-2 rout of Calgary. Their modest streak has them in a tie with the Islanders for last place in the Metro Division, but they are only a point behind the Blue Jackets and three points behind the Flyers and Rangers, who are tied for fourth.
The Pens have a rough schedule this week. They skate against defending Stanley Cup champion Florida at PPG Paints Arena tomorrow night, then visit the Rangers in New York on Friday and come home to face the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday.

The Minnesota Wild have acquired defenseman David Jiricek from the Blue Jackets for a top-five protected first-round draft choice next year and mid-round selections in 2026 and 2027. Jiricek was taken sixth overall in the 2022 draft but was unhappy that Columbus kept him in the AHL for the majority of the time since he was drafted.
