The IUP Crimson Hawks’ men will welcome South Carolina Beaufort to the KCAC tonight, and it will be a homecoming for Sand Sharks coach Ron Fudala, who was associate head coach under Joe Lombardi at IUP for four seasons.
Fudala left IUP to become the first coach ever for the newly-established USC-Beaufort program and he led them to a 10-16 record in their first campaign last season. He has them at 7-1 this season after they beat Slippery Rock, 70-64 on Saturday. They also beat UPJ, another PSAC school, 106-88 on November 16th.
Lombardi says IUP better be ready for a well-coached team.
Beaufort’s roster includes former IUP player Kyle Polce, who’s averaging 7.4 points with 2.6 assists per game.
Tipoff tonight is scheduled for 6 PM. We’re on the air on 92.5 FM U92 at 5:45.
