IUP’s men welcome Lincoln University to the KCAC tonight, with the Crimson Hawks riding a four-game winning streak into the non-conference game. IUP is 4-2 after last weekend’s wins over Lock Haven and Shippensburg.
Lincoln is 2-3. They beat Kutztown to start the season, then lost to East Stroudsburg, Felician, and Cal U before beating Molloy University in their last game, 100-78.
Jack Benedict and Tony Coccagna have the call of the game tonight on 92.5 FM U92, beginning at 7:15.
Speaking of Tony, he reports on his “Tony C’s Substack” that IUP coach Joe Lombardi will be getting two more players for his roster but will lose out on adding a third because of NCAA eligibility rules.
Tony reports that 6-6 freshman Bautista Rodriguez has been denied eligibility because of a timeline problem related to his residency in the U.S. and the year he graduated from school in his native Argentina.
Lombardi will welcome 6-3 senior guard Dallas Dillard back to his rotation provided everything checks out with his knee surgeon next week. Dillard was averaging 15.8 points per game when he went down with a torn ACL in the season’s tenth game last year.
6-2 guard Alfonso Pickens Jr. might be available as early as tonight as he also returns from a knee injury. The transfer played at Albany Tech Community College last season after two years at Gannon. He’s a graduate of Erie Cathedral Prep.
