Emma J. “Aunt Jean” Heckman, 79., of Shelocta, passed away on Friday, November 08, 2024 at her home.
She was born November 12, 1944, to Wilmer and Barbara (McQwen) Stewart in Logansport, Armstrong County.
“Aunt Jean” as she was known to everyone in the community, owned and operated with her husband Bob, Aunt Jean’s Deer Processing, in Shelocta for over 30 years. She always kept busy making crafts, crocheting, collecting salt and pepper shakers, and learned taxidermy. Aunt Jean always made sure she knitted a new outfit for all of her newborn nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Robert “Uncle Bob” Heckman, Shelocta, two sisters, Wilma Stewart, Plum, Ocie Stewart, and a brother Samuel Stewart, both of Logansport, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 12:00 PM until the time of service at 2:00 PM at the Mount Zion Church of Girty, 449 Girty Road, Shelocta, PA 15774, with her nephew, Pastor Casey Heckman officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Mount Zion Church of Girty, 449 Girty Road, Shelocta, PA 15774.
Interment will take place at Mount Union Lutheran Cemetery, Shelocta.
