Indiana’s Veterans Day Parade was well attended, as were ceremonies that followed put on by the Daughters of the American Revolution.
The ceremonies were punctuated with the installation of a plaque at the Indiana County Veterans Memorial commemorating the over 140 revolutionary veterans that are interred in Indiana.
Indiana County DAR Chapter Regent Debbie Bier said a lot of research went into finding the names, and some of their members may have direct connections to the revolution through those veterans.
Colin Sheffer with Pennsylvania America 250 said that this serves as the kickoff to the celebration that will honor the semi quincentennial of the United States in about two years.
