FIELD HOCKEY
There are national honors for two IUP field hockey players. Already named PSAC Defensive Player of the Week, IUP goaltender Brooke Eberly is the NFCHA Division II Defensive Player of the Week. Forward Jess Davidson has also been named honorable mention NFHCA Offensive Player of the Week after being PSAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week.
Eberly was recognized for shutting out number one-ranked Shippensburg and for her performance in a 2-1 loss to number two Edinboro. Davidson was honored for scoring a goal in both games.
SOCCER
IUP women’s soccer raced past Seton Hill, 3-0, last night. Kat Morgan, Elle Smith, and Emily Mannion scored the IUP goals and Makenna Yarrow made two saves. IUP outshot the Griffins, 23-7.
At 11-1-3 (9-1-3 in the PSAC), Number 23 IUP is third in the first numerical listing of the NCAA women’s soccer Atlantic Region Rankings. Gannon and Shepherd are the top two seeds. One more set of rankings will be released, next Tuesday, and the NCAA Selection Show for the DII tournament will be on Monday, November 18th.
The Crimson Hawks will close out the regular season with a home game on Saturday against number one Gannon.
VOLLEYBALL
IUP women’s volleyball program is ranked in the initial NCAA Atlantic Region Rankings, which is alphabetical. The first numeric rankings are scheduled to be released next Wednesday.
IUP is 16-8, 6-4 in the PSAC, and has won six out of their eight most recent matches. They are currently fourth in the PSAC West. The Crimson Hawks are 15-7 in-region.
