Northern Cambria will play for the District 6 Class A volleyball championship on Saturday after last night’s 3-1 semifinal win over Ferndale. After the Colts stormed ahead, 25-10, 25-11, in the first two sets, they lost the third set 25-23 before winning the fourth, 25-18.
Brenna McCracken had 25 digs, 10 kills, and 13 points on serve, with two aces. Sophia Fry added 21 digs and 12 service points, with four aces. Kiera Boring had 36 assists and 12 digs. Emily DePetro had 12 digs and 5 kills, and Ava Lieb had 12 kills, 11 digs. Riley Olish had 11 kills.
Northern Cambria will play two-time District 6 champion West Branch for the title on Saturday at noon at the Altoona Fieldhouse. West Branch beat Bishop Carroll, 3-1.
