Mike Tomlin still hasn’t confirmed it, but Russell Wilson is in line to start at quarterback for the Steelers against the Jets on Sunday night. Wilson got the bulk of the work with the first team and Fields said he was prepared for whatever role he is asked to play.
Both players sent the media to dust off their Bibles, citing the scripture passage of James 1, verse 2 to describe their feelings…Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds.
Wilson says he doesn’t believe rust will be a factor after his long layoff. (He hasn’t played an NFL game since last Christmas Eve.)

Alex Highsmith is recovered from his groin injury and was a full practice participant yesterday. He’ll return to his familiar outside linebacker position opposite TJ Watt.
Center Zach Frazier, linebacker Nick Herbig, and utility man Cordarrelle Patterson all missed practice again while Najee Harris returned and was a full participant, and safety Damontae Kazee returned in a limited capacity.
Rookie wide receiver Roman Wilson was back on the injured list with a hamstring injury, just a week after finally making his NFL debut.
