It could be a milestone night tonight for the Penguins against the Buffalo Sabres. Sidney Crosby, still looking for his first goal of the season, is one point away from 1,600 in his career, and Evgeni Malkin is one goal shy of 500 for his career.
If he gets his 500th, Malkin will make Pittsburgh only the second team in NHL history with three 500-goal scorers. Mario Lemieux and Crosby scored all of their goals in Penguins uniforms. Only the Montreal Canadiens, with Guy Lafleur, Jean Beliveau and “Rocket” Richard, have accomplished that feat before. Malkin would also join Alexander Ovechkin as the only Russian-born players in NHL history to reach 500 goals.
Tonight’s game faces off at seven o’clock. The pregame on 92.5 FM U92 airs at 6.
