Coach Paul Tortorella said on Hawk Talk on U92 and Renda Digital TV last night that a lot went wrong for IUP in Saturday’s loss to Edinboro, including two turnovers, untimely penalties, and a failure to capitalize with scores despite dominating the time of possession.
At 4-2, IUP will try to rebound against Seton Hill at George P. Miller Stadium this Saturday. The Griffins are 2-4 and 0-2 in the PSAC West, but except for their opening loss to Fairmont State, their games have all been close. They were beaten by Cal, 28-21, last week on a touchdown in the final 14 seconds and by Gannon, 23-17, the week before.
Tortorella says Seton Hill is a more stable program since Daniel Day took over six seasons ago.
Seton Hill is led by running back Ky’Ron Craggette a redshift junior from Connellsville who transferred after Notre Dame, Ohio closed. Craggette has run for 729 yards this season and caught twenty passes for another 164.
Tortorella says the 5-10, 200-pounder carries the load for the Griffins.
Saturday’s game kicks off at two o’clock, with a 1:30 airtime on 92.5 FM U92.
