In Saturday soccer action, Philipsburg-Osceola edged United, 6-5, in double-overtime, with Carson Long scoring all six goals for the Mountaineers.
P-O took a 3-2 lead into halftime, but United rallied for a 3-2 advantage in the second half, Gideon Bracken scored three goals and Carter Payne had the other two. For United, Payne, Noah Riffer, and Garin Fischer all recorded assists.
United outshot the Mountaineers, taking 28 shots, 20 of which were on goal. P-O had 14 shots on goal.
Philipsburg-Osceola is 9-6-1, while United fell to 6-8-1. The Lions will face Conemaugh Township on Tuesday in the regular season finale. CT is 12-1, 5-0 in the Heritage Conference including a 7-2 win over United on September 12th.
