The Steelers travel to Las Vegas to play the Raiders on Sunday. Mike Tomlin’s team has lost its last two games after winning their first three. Vegas is 2-3 and coming off a loss to Denver last week.
Russell Wilson worked with the second team again yesterday, but was a full practice participant for the second day in a row. He says he is ready to play if called upon, but Justin Fields will get the start.
Wilson doesn’t expect to show any rust when he finally gets to play.
Defensive lineman Cam Heyward says the Steelers’ defense, which has struggled to get off the field on third-and-long situation the last two weeks, has to treat every down with equal intensity.
Alex Highsmith has already been ruled out for the game by coach Mike Tomlin, but he returned to practice yesterday for the first time since suffering a groin injury three games ago. He was limited but able to make it through the practice. Tight end Pat Freiermuth was added to the injury list with a calf injury. He is expected to play Sunday.
Sunday’s Steelers game is on WDAD, with the airtime at 2 PM, kickoff about two hours later.
