The high school football season is rounding the bend and entering the home stretch, and tonight there are some meaningful games with big District 6 rankings points on the line.
One of the biggest is the Double-A matchup between 6-1 River Valley and 5-2 Marion Center on Cat Country, 106.3 FM. River Valley holds the fourth spot in AA and Marion Center is sixth.

Stingers coach Adam Rising says River Valley’s quarterback, Max Persichetti, leads a very strong offensive attack.
On WCCS and Renda Digital TV, undefeated 7-0 Cambria Heights welcomes 2-5 Homer-Center, which has won two straight games and is 10th in Class A but only 20 points out of the 8th and final playoff slot.
Wildcats coach Greg Page says the Highlanders come as advertised.
Page is impressed with the solid Cambria Heights defense.
Highlanders coach Jarrod Lewis says Homer-Center is improving.
Lewis says the Highlanders have to prevent the Wildcats from stretching the field.
On 92.5 FM U92, it’s two 2-5 teams meeting with Purchase Line hosting Portage. The Mustangs hold the seventh spot in District 6 Class A while the Red Dragons are just 20 points behind, in the eighth and final playoff slot.
Coach Matt Falisec knows the task ahead for his Red Dragons.
Mustangs coach Marty Slanoc is looking for controlled aggression.
The other games in the Heritage Conference tonight include 5-2 Penns Manor facing 4-3 United Valley at Blacklick Valley. The Comets are 5th in Class A. The Lions are 8th in AA. 6-1 Northern Cambria, second in Class A, welcomes 3-4 Conemaugh Township, which is District 5. Two winless teams do battle when 0-7 Conemaugh Valley visits West Shamokin.
All of the action begins with the Indiana Total Therapy pregame shows at 6:30 for River Valley/Marion Center on Cat Country and for Purchase Line/Portage on U92. It’s a 6:15 airtime for Homer-Center/Cambria Heights on WCCS and Renda Digital TV.
