The Pittsburgh Penguins beat the Columbus Blue Jackets 7-3 last night to finish the pre-season at 4-3.
Columbus got on the board first with goals by Mikael Pyyhtia and Cole Clayton, but Noel Accari and Rickard Rakell tied it up with goals of their own in the first. In the second, Jesse Puljujarvi, Rutger McGroaty and Noel Accari scored before the Blue Jackets Kent Johnson tried to rally the team back with his own goal. Lars Eller would get one in the second and the only goal in the third to wrap up the scoring.
Joel Blomqvist stopped 26 of 29 shots, and Flilip Larson did see some ice time, but Columbus did not take a shot against him.
Next up for the Pens, the regular season opener at PPG Paints Arena against the New York Rangers on Wednesday.
