While the Indiana Area Collaborative Team has not released any announcements about activity on and off campus for Friday night, Indiana Borough Police have released information about some investigations undertaken on Friday.
One of the incidents was a crash involving a car and a pedestrian. Police say this happened at 4:50 PM at the intersection of Church Street and Rex Avenue. A juvenile riding a skateboard through the intersection was hit by an Eastbound sedan operated by an un-named woman. Police said the injuries were not life-threatening and members of the juvenile’s family were present during the investigation. Police determined that the driver did not commit any traffic violations. Police were assisted by Citizens Ambulance.
The other incident involved a tree along Philadelphia Street. Police reported that 22-year-old Trent Lunden of Murrysville was charged with a single count of criminal mischief for damaging a tree in the 500 block of Philadelphia Street around 12:03 Friday morning. Police were summoned about 10 hours later to investigate the damage done to the Royal Prince Oak planted along the sidewalk. Video surveillance caught Lunden damaging the tree intentionally. He did cooperate with investigators and a criminal complaint will be filed through District Judge Tony Sottile’s office.
An official report from the Indiana Area Collaborative Team is expected later this morning.
