Two sentencing hearings are scheduled for Indiana County Court today, including one for a man who became aggressive with troopers after ramming into one of their cruisers in 2023.
41-year-old David Paul Dilts, Jr. of Penn Run will go before Indiana County President Judge Thomas Bianco today for the hearing after it was continued last week. He pleaded guilty to DUI-Controlled Substance, reckless endangerment and resisting arrest on August 19th in Indiana County Court. The charges were filed in connection with an incident on Airport Road near Spearman Road in Cherryhill Township on February 24th. Police say he was driving a Ford F-150 east on Airport Road and rear-ended the state police cruiser resulting in moderate damage to the car and disabling damage to the truck.
After the collision, Dilts got out of the truck and shouted at the trooper. He refused to comply with police as they tried to give him a field sobriety test and while he was handcuffed, he spat a wad of chewing tobacco in a trooper’s face.
Also on the court schedule today is the sentencing of 49-year-old Amy Lee Cronin of Bradenville, who pleaded guilty to a charge of theft by deception on June 7th of this year for an incident on April 21st of last year.
