GOLF
The District 6 Class AA golf championship is today at Scotch Pine in Hollidaysburg. From the Heritage Conference, West Shamokin and River Valley will vie with Westmont Hilltop and Central Cambria also in contention.
Heritage Conference golfers playing for the individual title include West Shamokin junior Alex Talmadge, the lefty who is the defending District 6 champion. His Wolves teammates, Braden Talmadge, Gunnar Shoop, Logan Geist, Travis Johns, and Kash Julius are all in the individual hunt, along with River Valley’s Jake Pynos – who finished fifth last year – his Panthers teammates Jeremy Reed and Brady Doak; Homer-Center’s Brayden Rado; Portage’s Jonah Irvin, Trae Kargo, and Kaiden Zock; and Conemaugh Valley’s Jeremy Dietz.
At Oakmont yesterday, Indiana’s Chace Force finished out of contention for the WPIAL championship.
VOLLEYBALL
After Monday’s non-conference win over DuBois, Indiana was back on the court for a WPIAL AAA Section 5 game against Franklin Regional, and they beat the Panthers three sets to one. The two teams split the first two sets, with Indiana taking the first one, 25-15 but losing the second, 25-23. Indiana then closed it out, 25-17 and 25-23. Paige Fisanich had 19 kills, Stella Stossel had 15, and Addie Stossel had 8. Rebecca Roccetti had 10 digs and 5 aces. Hannah Cowburn had 46 assists.
CROSS COUNTRY
Indiana lost to both Latrobe and Penn Trafford in a boys’ tri-meet, while the Indiana girls lost to Latrobe but beat Penn Trafford.
BOYS SOCCER
Mars beat Indiana 3-1.
TENNIS
The Indiana girls team of Eve Kuzneski and Gabby Sharp beat Franklin Regional 3-1.
