A man accused of inappropriately touching a child was sentenced yesterday in Indiana County Court.
44-year-old Douglas Hutchins of Johnstown pleaded guilty to charges of corruption of minors and indecent exposure for an incident on August 1st of 2019. On that day, police say that he inappropriately touched someone under the age of 13 in an apartment in the 700 block of Philadelphia Street. For both charges, he was ordered to serve nine months to a day less than two years in Indiana County Jail and three years of probation. The sentences will run concurrently.
Also sentenced yesterday was 25-year-old Jacob Hankinson of Blairsville, who was ordered to serve 54 months to 10 years in state prison and one year re-entry supervision. He pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver in connection with a chase in Burrell Township on April 28th of last year. After ditching his motorcycle and a backpack full of drugs, he tried to flee on foot but was later apprehended.
The sentencing hearing for Cameron Raubaugh was continued. He pleaded guilty to aggravated assault-fear of serious bodily injury and false reports for the IUP Police-involved shooting on October 29th of last year. He called police to the Miller Stadium parking lot for a reported robbery, but police found him matching the description he provided. He knocked an officer down, and a shot was fired but it missed. State police responded and subdued Raubaugh by using a taser. The new sentencing date is October 25th.
