Paul Skenes was brilliant, as usual, for the Pirates yesterday as the Pirates blanked the Reds. Greg Brown has the recap.
Manager Derek Shelton says Skenes is special.
Shelton says the Pirates are limiting the innings for Skenes, who has never pitched as much as he has this season.
Nick Yorke was acquired from the Red Sox in the Quinn Priester trade in July. Shelton says Yorke is a player.
The Pirates are off today and start a three-game series with Milwaukee at PNC Park tomorrow. They then visit Yankee Stadium for three games to finish off the season this weekend.
