Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi honored his late father on Saturday, wearing an outfit similar to the one his dad typically wore when he was coach of Youngstown State in the 1970s and 1980s, as Pitt beat Youngstown State, 73-17. Narduzzi, who played for his father in college, surpassed Bill Narduzzi for career victories with 69.
Redshirt freshman quarterback Eli Holstein completed 16 of 24 passes for 247 yards and three touchdowns. Pitt piled up 644 yards of total offense and put up nine offensive scores, with the defense adding one.
The Panthers will be off next week before opening the ACC portion of their schedule at North Carolina on October 5th.
