Former first round draft pick Broderick Jones will get his shot at redemption today when the Steelers play the Chargers at Acrisure Stadium. This year’s first-round draft choice, Troy Fautanu, was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury on Saturday and will miss at least four games. Jones will get the start at right tackle.
Jones struggled mightily last week in Denver after Fautanu got the start. On his first series, Jones committed three penalties in six plays and was immediately benched and chewed out by coach Mike Tomlin. Fautanu has fought through his ailing knee, which was injured in the first preseason game, but the team shut him down on Friday when he reinjured it.
Starting guard Isaac Seumalo is already ruled out and will miss his third straight game. Tight end MyCole Pruitt is also out. The Steelers activated offensive lineman John Leglue and defensive back James Pierre from the practice squad for today’s game, which airs at noon on WDAD, kicking off at one o’clock.
