Classes at Indiana Senior High will go on as scheduled today after an investigation into an alleged weapon in the building, but there will be an increased police presence today out of an abundance of caution.
Indiana Borough Police say they joined Indiana School District administrators at 4:45 PM yesterday after a Safe 2 Say report was received that informed them of a conversation overheard between two male students involving a gun being in one of their lockers. They conducted multiple interviews, reviewed surveillance video, and even brought in K-9 officers from Westmoreland and Allegheny Counties to search the building. No gun was found and police believe there is no threat to the school.
Police are grateful to the student who made the Safe 2 Say report and ask students to remain observant and report any suspicious activity they see.
