Indiana’s boys golfers eked out a six-stroke win over Penn Trafford yesterday, raising their record to 11-3 overall and 8-2 in their Section. The final: 206-212 at Manor Valley. Chace Force and Austin Schawl each earned a share of medalist honors with matching 39s. Drew Brocious shot 43, Beau Raykes a 43, and Caden Force a 45. Indiana is tied with Kiski for second in the Section, behind Latrobe.
Conemaugh Valley edged Homer-Center by one stroke at Berkely Hills in Johnstown, with Ferndale finishing third in the three-team match. The Wildcats’ Marcus Coy tied the Blue Jays’ Jeremy Dietz and Matt Grasso for medalist, all shooting 41. Homer-Center’s Brayden Rado shot 42, Angelo Alexander 43, and Noah Turk a 46. Jordy Arone also broke 50 with a season-low 49.
SOCCER
United topped Berlin-Brothersvalley 3-1 as Gideon Bracken got the hat trick, his second goal, the game-winner, coming from about 20 yards out on a direct free kick to the right of the goalkeeper. The Lions’ Keydun Tomalson registered an assist. United is 3-1.
