Sidney Crosby put a lot of Penguins fans’ minds at ease yesterday on the NHL’s annual media tour, saying he’s “pretty optimistic” a contract extension will get done. Crosby said contract talks have been “really positive, and it hasn’t been a difficult process at all.”
Crosby is beginning the 12th and final year of his current contract. He says he feels good and is “just as excited about going to training camp as (he) was (his) first year.”
The Penguins haven’t yet announced a training camp schedule. Twenty-five young prospects will play in the Buffalo Sabres’ Prospect Challenge starting this Friday.
