Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi says Saturday’s comeback win over Cincinnati was special, but the so-called “River City Rivalry” with the Bearcats is nothing like The Backyard Brawl. Pitt plays West Virginia in the 107th edition of The Backyard Brawl on Saturday at Acrisure Stadium.
Narduzzi says the hype around this rivalry is real.
The coach says a lot of his players are itching to get another shot at WVU after last year’s loss, and are eager to add their names to the list of winners in the Backyard Brawl.
Pitt leads the all-time series 62-41-3, but the Mountaineers have won four of the last five games, including a 17-6 win in West Virginia last year.
